This week, I speak with Paul Green, Jr., Assistant Professor of Management at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas, Austin.

Paul has a fascinating life story. What started for Paul as a seasonal job testing tomato juice became the start of an adventure in researching and understanding The Morning Star Company. Morning Star is the largest tomato processor in California. With no bosses, it has been called “the world’s most creatively managed company”, with Paul now leading the Morning Star Self-Management Institute.

We talk:

  • Turning down banking for tomatoes
  • Every man, a mission
  • Whether self-management works for everyone
  • Firing people when there is no boss
  • The need for a ‘moral protector’
