In 2005 Equinor (formerly Statoil - the Norwegian State oil company), decided to abolish traditional budgeting and Bjarte led this effort, called ‘Beyond Budgeting’. The effects of this decision and what they learned has gained international attention and Bjarte became the Chairman of the Beyond Budgeting RoundtableEurope.
